Significance of Annabhisekam:

Annabhishekam is performed on the full moon day in the seventh month of every year ie. Aipasi (in Sauramana calendar) for Sri Siva in all Siva Temples.  Laghunyasam, Sri Rudram and Chamakam are chanted during the Abhishekam. It is believed that Lord Siva bestows his blessings on his subjects with a great harvest that provides them with abundance of Annam (Rice). In addition, Devotees who participate in the Annabhishekam for Sri Siva with devotion will be blessed with happiness and joy.
